Rigid core flooring is 100% waterproof. A vinyl plank floor that mimics hardwood has an enhanced rigid-core construction. It is a solid plank with reduced liability and a sturdy-feeling underfoot to have an authentic hard surface feeling. It also has just the right amount of "give" to make it comfortable to stand or walk.

Why is it called SPC flooring?

SPC refers to stone plastic composite, one of two technologically advanced cores that offer the highest moisture protection in waterproof floors. The other is WPC (wood plastic composite), which has a warmer, more resilient feeling while SPC can feel more like a hard surface.

How is rigid core different from WPC?

While they both offer the same high level of moisture protection, the rigid core is tougher and more powerful than other waterproof flooring options. As a result, it can stand up to the heaviest foot traffic and is often used in commercial applications.

Also, most subfloors are uneven and can cause waves and ripples to the surface floor, but the rigid core is thick and robust enough to keep it smooth. That, combined with a thick wear layer that protects the floor from scratches, scuffs, and dents and makes it ideal for any room.

The wood-look trend

This is expected to last for several years, and these floors are a newer version of luxury vinyl, with all the style and high-end design. Images are digitally taken, so they are clear and vibrant with knots, swirls, and grains. In addition, there is micro beveling and embossing to add depth, dimension, and (also trending) textured looks such as wire-brushed, hand scraped, weathered, and distressed.

Like luxury vinyl, it's easy to care for with daily sweeping and periodic mopping. The rigid core comes with a clicking mechanism, so the pieces fit together, mat, then hover over the subfloor without nails or glue.
